Progress / Learning Journal

Progress / Learning Journal

It is important that the childcare setting tracks every child's Progress within the setting, by doing this they are able to plan for the appropriate next steps for the child and, therefore, their learning and development will move forward at an appropriate rate.

Tracking the child's individual Progress is extremely important as it ensures that they are covering the whole of the EYFS in the appropriate way for the child in the setting, in addition individual needs and unexpected developmental patterns can be identified early and accurately shared with parents and professionals.

Baby's Days has a Progress / Learning Journal section for every child on the system, this allows the childcare setting to add Achievement Dates, Observations, Next Steps and Progress photographs to every Early Years Outcome within an Aspect of each Area of Learning: CL, EAD, L, M, PD, PSED and UW, the Progress section is a complete and comprehensive Learning Journey for the child, not a tick sheet but a detailed journey of the child's developmental achievements through their Early Years.
