Starting Points

Starting points can be added by both parents and the childcare setting, ideally when a child starts at a new setting the parents will be asked to mark off all early years outcomes within the EYFS that they feel their child has achieved, these will be checked by the childcare setting then approved and added to the child's progress section.

Additional starting points can be added to the system at any time.

Key Areas of the Starting Points section for Parents

Parents may be asked to set their child's starting points / baseline.
When parent's starting poitns are added to the system they add achievement dates to multiple Early Years Outcomes at once.
Parent added starting points will appear in the child's progress section as Parent added starting points.

The Starting Points section can be accessed by placing your mouse over the Progress icon at the top of the page and from the drop down list that appears clicking on the Starting Points link.

If after arriving at the Starting Points section you need assistance with using this section, click on the Help Tour link at the top of the page where full step by step instructions on how to use this section will be provided, you can find the Help Tour link at the top of the page in every section of the system.
